    The Braintree Police Department announced that the town is hosting the 32nd MBTA Transit Police Academy over the next 27 weeks at the Braintree Army National Guard Armory. Over 40 recruits, including 4 new Braintree Police officers, began their training today. The recruits will be running throughout the community each morning as part of their physical fitness training, and may be loudly calling cadences and encouraging each other to build teamwork; the chief asks residents for patience and understanding during this training.

    32nd MBTA Transit Police Academy to be held in Braintree


    Hi, This is Chief Russ Jenkins with a non-emergency message for residents of our community. The Town of Braintree and the Braintree Army National Guard are playing host to the MBTA Transit Police Academy over the next twentyseven weeks. Over forty young men and women, including four new Braintree Police recruits, began training today at the National Guard Armory on Union Street. An important component of their daily training is physical fitness and to that end, the recruit officers will be running throughout our community every morning. Calling cadence and shouting encouragement is important to building teamwork and esprit de corp. I know that this will be seen as an inconvenience to some, but I ask for your patience and understanding. These young men and women will be serving in communities throughout the Commonwealth and the training they receive here in Braintree will carry with them throughout their careers.
