Students coming into Math 7 and MSII need to have the following skills mastered in order to be successful in the

course: Basic facts addition, subtraction, MULTIPLICATION, and division: Students should be fluent with their math facts, especially in the first 9 weeks as there are no calculators allowed during this part of the course Adding integers: This is taught in Math 6 and should only need a quick review rather than having to reteach the material. Fractions, decimals, and percentages: Students should be able to convert between the three forms and should be able to compare their values. Order of operations: This is also taught in Math 6 and students should know the order to complete operations when given an expression. This will help when we make the expressions more difficult.

For students moving into Math 7, a half hour of work per week is recommended. For students moving into Middle School Math II, an hour of work per week is recommended. Listed are some websites and iPad apps that students can practice with over the course of the summer. If you find other means of practice, that is also okay. Please sign off on the practice that your child has completed so that students can turn this in on the first day of math class next year (2013-2014).
