1. Given the extreme health risks, should marketers stop selling cigarettes even though they are legal and demanded by consumers? Should cigarette marketers continue to use marketing tactics that are restricted in one country in other countries when they are not restricted? ( AACSB: Communication; Ethical Reasoning )

SMOKING. It is a very huge issue in the society today.

It is the inhalation of the smoke of

burning tobacco encased in cigarettes, pipes, and cigars which we all know, would eventually greatly damage the smokers entire being. And this is why I am in the position that it should be at least heavily restricted if not banned, since it is legal. To the idea that marketers should stop selling cigarettes, I say NO (since it is already produced). But I say YES to the prohibition of the production of more. I know, we are all tired of the laws hurting the little guy but not helping stop the big bully. Now, what about the tobacco industry? What about the people who earn a living by these products? As a community, we have to reconsider. But as persons for others, we have to regard some essential and important ideas, too. What about a smoke-free world? What about long life spans? What about a healthy being? What about a disease-free environment? Smoking is supposed to be choice but for some, it was, and it is not. So I say, instead of centering our pursuit on completely banning smoking, we should all focus on making smokers trying to quit smoking on their own and encourage them to continue to try to stop through producing new low-cost and available products that may somehow become the commencement of their smoking cessation, and would finally divert their addiction. And maybe too, just maybe, our dream of a clean and harmless habitat would have a chance to become reality.
