How to Apply Instructions to Candidates

Please read the instructions carefully and then proceed with the Online application process. IMP: The candidates are necessarily required to apply Online through LICs website under the heading "Careers" www.licindia.in/careers.htm. No other means/mode of application will be accepted. The

candidate must have a valid and unique email-id. The candidate should create an email-id with any one of the popular Email Service Providers (like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.), if he/she does not have one. This will be used in all communication with the candidates.

NOTE : Candidature of applicants applying through common email-id will be rejected.

The application process will be in the following stages:

1) Applicants are required to visit LIC's website www.licindia.in and click on the "Careers" link (appearing at the bottom of the website). It will open the link "ENGAGEMENT OF DIRECT SALES EXECUTIVES". Thereafter, the Engagement Notification is to be opened by clicking on it and a print-out of the same to be kept by the candidate future reference. The candidate should deposit the application fee of Rs. 100/- in cash preferably at any LIC Divisional Office or alternatively at any LIC Branch Office (no fee is payable by SC/ST candidates). No other mode of payment shall be acceptable. "Miscellaneous receipt" issued by the LIC of India in token of the fees collected will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of the written test / interview. Without the Miscellaneous Receipt, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test / interview. Candidates are required to keep the original and photocopy of the miscellaneous receipt for future use. Candidates have to register Online only after obtaining the miscellaneous receipt for payment of application fee (no fee is payable by SC/ST candidates) from the cash collection centre of LIC.

2) Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on 01/06/2013 are required to log in to LIC's website under the heading "Careers" www.licindia.in/careers.htm for submission of applications Online. Once the candidate clicks the link "ENGAGEMENT OF DIRECT SALES EXECUTIVES", another link containing the advertisement of the "ENGAGEMENT OF DIRECT SALES EXECUTIVES - 2013" will be opened. Clicking on it redirects the candidates to the Online registration page. The candidate is

required to have the details about bio-data and Miscellaneous Receipt ready to enable him/her to fill up the application form correctly. The name of the candidate, his/her fathers/husbands name etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark-sheets. While filling the 'Fee Details" in the application form, candidates are required to enter and check the following: a. LIC Branch Code (Upper Left Hand Corner of the Miscellaneous Receipt) - Maximum 4 characters (Alpha-Numeric) b. Transaction Number (Tr. No.) - Maximum 8 Digits (appearing on the Left Hand Corner of the Receipt). c. Transaction Date (appearing on the Upper Left Hand Corner of the Receipt). A specimen of the Miscellaneous Receipt showing the above fields is shown below for reference.

Fields marked * are mandatory & are required to be filled in the Online application. Branch Code and Date of deposit of application fee should be filled in by the candidate correctly.

On successful acceptance of appropriate validations in the application form, Registration ID and Password is displayed on-screen. At the same time these details are also auto-mailed to the candidate. Hence it is very important that the candidate should possess a valid and personal (unique) email-id for all communication related to the engagement process.

The candidate is advised to take a print-out of the application form after completing the application for future use.

3) Candidates shall be solely responsible for filling up the applications correctly. In case of invalid applications due to errors committed by the applicant/wrong information provided by them, claims for refund of application fees so collected shall NOT be entertained by the Corporation. To avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised to pay the application fees (wherever applicable) and register Online at the earliest. After the application is submitted the candidate is advised to retain two print-outs of the application form and affix a recent passport size photograph on the appropriate space on one copy. Application print-out is required to be submitted at the time of interview. Candidates are advised to retain four copies of the same photograph which will be required at various stages of selection process (for detailed selection process, please refer notification). Eligible candidates can download the call letter for written test / interview from the LIC's website and affix the same photograph as affixed on the application form. This call letter is compulsorily to be brought by the candidate at the time of written test / interview along with the "Miscellaneous Receipt". 4) The candidates are advised NOT to send the application form to any LIC office other than bringing it personally at the time of written test / interview.

5) Candidates are advised to choose only those direct marketing units (as exam centres) which are close to their city of residence.

6) "In case you face any difficulty in online registration or if you haven't received auto response mail within 72 hours, mail to us at codm_dsehelp@licindia.com giving the following specific details to enable us to provide quick resolution of the error encountered by you (a) Registration ID (Email-id is your Registration ID) (b) Your contact telephone number (preferably your Mobile no) (c) Your Operating System Windows XP/Windows 7 or Linux (with Version number) (d) Internet Browser with its version number (e) Whether java script is enabled (f) Copy of Exact Text of error message you encounter

Please make one more attempt from any other PC with either Internet Explorer (6 or above), Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or above, Google Chrome 2.0 or above, or Opera 7.0 or above (with javascript enabled). A separate link regarding enabling of javascript on different browsers is given on the main page. Please follow the above two instructions before filing the report with our help desk (email-id mentioned above)."
