1.To make use of proper hand tools 2.To prepare the mould of a split bearing 1. Skill in using the tools 2. Skill in ramming the sand 3.Skill in removing the pattern 4.Skill in the gate cutting moulding sand, facing sand, parting sand, graphite powder Cope box, drag box, pattern, trowels, rammer, strike off bar, vent rod, swab, draw spike, gate cutter, lifter, slic, runner, riser 1.Place the drag box on moulding board 2.Apply the powder 3.Place the pattern inside the box 4.sprinkle facing sand 5.fill the moulding sand and ram properly 6.scrap the excess sand 7.make u rent holes at number of places 8.finish the top surface and sprinkle the parting sand 9.turn the drag box and place the cope box over the drag 10. keep the runner and rise shapes in positions 11.fill the cope box with moulding sand 12.ram the sand properly 13.scrape off excess sand 14.finishing the top surface 15.remove the cope box 16.remove the pattern 17.finish the mould by cutting the gates at suitable places 18.dust the mould with powder 1.Take care while placing the pattern in a mould box 2.Take care while ramming to get a uniform surface 3.Take care while aligning boxes 4.Take care while removing the pattern 5.Cut the gate at proper place
