Moulded Slip-on Explosive Booster

To ensure reliable function of the charge it is necessary to fasten a booster charge to the charge to be initiated by means of self adhesive layer placed on the bottom or bevelled side of the booster. The adhesive, slip-on booster is formed from solid moulded plastic explosive. The booster has a drilling through the oblique angle to permit detonator access (will accept any commercial or military detonator). This oblique angle ensures the detonator and booster direct the explosive force into the explosive mass of the prepared charge. An adhesive pad is fixed to the underside of the booster; this pad has a peel-off backing paper that permits adhesion to any flat surface and can be used on sheet explosive, Explosive Cutting Tape and Flexible Linear Cutting Charges

or can be used with any H.E. where initiation by detonator only may be uncertain, such explosives as TNT, COMP B are typical of charges which require a boosted initiator. The booster provides a substantial enhancement ensuring a fail-safe means of initiation of all explosive natures. For EMOE (Explosive Method of Entry) applications, the booster ensures detonators remain in contact with the explosive mass during Special Forces deployment of entry charges, particularly in applications such as window charges, frame charges and aircraft door opening charges where sheet explosive and flexible linear cutting charges are used.
