CORPORATION (ABWREC)

•A not-for-profit organization started 3 ½

years ago.

•Located at Powells Industrial Estate.

•Operated by a 7 member Board of 3

volunteer Rotarians 2 government
representatives, 1 uniformed body
representative and 1 private sector
representative.

•Currently employs 7, 5 recovering

substance/alcohol addicts.

•Runs volunteer programme (weekly and

periodically)
Achievements to Date
•Over 250,000 lbs of waste plastics have been collected and
50,000 lbs of aluminum cans and other non-ferrous scrap.
•6 containers of waste plastic shipped to U.S. and China or about
200,000 lbs.
•13 containers of lead acid batteries shipped to Venezuela or
approx. 16,000 batteries.
•Foreign revenue earnings of over US$100,000.
•Over 2,500 from 45 schools and youth groups have toured the
facility and been educated in environmental stewardship
