Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration Summary Assignment

Task: You are applying for a job at the Research Station just outside of town. You will be working with both plants and animals, and your prospective boss is not yet convinced that you understand the key processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. She has asked you to put together a product that demonstrates your understanding of these processes. Product: You have several options when it comes to what kind of product you can create, and your boss has encouraged you to be creative. Here are some possibilities for types of products: A poster or posters (diagrams or concept maps or both) A song (original or new lyrics to an existing song) A skit or role play A clear and detailed written description A speech or presentation Your choice (must be approved) Requirements: Regardless of the form your product takes, to receive full marks you are required to include the following points: All 3 stages of Photosynthesis All 4 stages of Aerobic Respiration and 2 stages of Anaerobic Respiration (Glycolysis is part of both) Where each process (and each stage) occurs in the cell What types of cells it occurs in Reactants and Products for each stage Evaluation: You will be evaluated based on the attached rubric. All product types will be evaluated based on this same rubric, because they all need to meet the same requirements. If you choose to work with a partner or in a group, you will all receive the same mark, and are expected to share the work equitably. If you are concerned about how the work is being divided in your group, please come see me before the project is complete so that I can help your group to sort it out. If you choose to do outside research and go into detail beyond the scope of what we cover in class, you can earn bonus marks, but this is not required. This will constitute most of your logbook mark for this Unit **Due: Wednesday September 11 All groups will present for 3-5 min to the class
