Set songs as ringtones in iTunes

Step #1

Open iTunes

Step #2

Click Songs

Step #3

Click the song you want to make a ringtone

Step #4

Right click on the song and select Get Info

Click Options

Step #6

Click both the Start Time and Stop Time checkboxes

Change the Stop Time to 0:30

Step #8

Click OK then right click on the song again and select Create AAC Version

Select the 0:30 version of the song, right click on it then click Show in Windows Explorer

When the new window open right click on the highlighted le and select properties

Make sure your on the general tab and locate the Text Field with the song name and the extension .m4a

Once youve located the text eld change the extension .m4a to the extension .m4r

Once youve located the text eld change the extension .m4a to the extension .m4r

Once youve changed the extension click OK [a box may appear asking if you wish to change the extension...click yes]

Step# 15
Go back to iTunes and click on the 30 second version of the song and hit delete on your keyboard. A pop-up with appear asking if you wish to delete the song, select Delete Song

Then, go back to the other window and double click on the song with .m4r extension. It should open in iTunes.

Plug in your phone and when it appears in the iTunes Window click it. (it should appear next to the iTunes Store button towards the upper right hand corner.

Click Tones

Step# 19

Make sure Sync Tones is Checked. Make sure Selected Tones is Checked then Check the song you just made in a ringtone

Then in the bottom right hand corner click the Apply Button then click the sync button
