DURATION OF PRACTICUM Student-teacher with teaching experience in a public or private school is given flexibility in carrying out their practicum.

This is an open distance learning which includes face-to-face, self-managed learning and online learning.

Open University Malaysia The Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching is designed to meet the needs of graduates interested in pursuing careers in education, particularly those who are currently employed in private educational institutions. This programme will also enable teachers to gain professional training while in service, without obtaining study leave. This is in line with the organization's mission to widen access to quality education as well as to provide lifelong learning opportunities by adopting an engaging learning environment at competitive and affordable cost. QUALIFICATION Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching PROGRAMME STRUCTURE Students enrolled in the programme will complete 8 papers in 3 semesters. Each paper is worth 3 credits and 6 credits for practical teaching (total of 30 credits per year). Module 1 (4 weeks) More than one year 2 (8 weeks) Less than one year 3 (12 weeks) No teaching experience Start date: January, May, September Programme length: 12 months OBJECTIVES To equip educators in private schools and colleges with pedagogical knowledge and skills for their professional practice.
