new tools for delivering engaging and effective science lessons.

Our teacher developers introduce teachers to active learning techniques that
can be applied easily in any subject context, with a focus on competencies
as envisioned in NEP 2020 to help students develop their knowledge and
enthusiasm for learning

Program Details and Outline

Royal Society of Chemistry is managing this programme in collaboration with
leading Indian academic institutes.
Thanks to Dr Yusuf Hamied’s generous funding, the course is completely FREE
for all teachers and schools.
Online Certificates of participation will be provided.
Teachers will be provided three modules and a lot of reference material in
the digital format.
Who can attend?
Science teachers from Grade 1 and above from across India can register
themselves or their schools.
Duration
There are three modules in a workshop. Each module lasts two to three hours.
By the end of the three modules teachers will be able to:
• extend their repertoire of teaching techniques
• plan a lesson using active learning strategies
• access and explore online resources to help students learn science
• use diagnostic questions to challenge common misconceptions
• use a range of active learning techniques to teach abstract ideas
and much more!
Training Modules
Moving Towards Active learning: Teachers are introduced to the idea of
active learning and try out new techniques.
Developing Active Learning Techniques in Science: This module includes
hands on science experiments and active learning through games. Use of
videos, augmented reality, virtual labs and simulations will be discussed.
Taking Active Learning Techniques Further in Science: We discuss common
student misconceptions and how they can overcome them.
How to make the students holistic well rounded individuals equipped with 21st
Century Skills
