DELIGHT AT THE MUSEUM ON AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP DAY


Some 67 Tasmanian conferees from 23 countries will mark Australian Citizenship Day tomorrow by joining the Australian family at a ceremony in Hobart. The states largest ceremony will be staged at the Museum of Old and New Art and will feature contemporary interpretive dance and music as well as school performances. It will be presided over by Lord Mayor of Hobart, Alderman Damon Thomas. Among the new citizens will be a medal winner from the 2013 world dragon boat racing championships. Citizenship ceremonies will also take place tomorrow in Waratah/Wynyard and in the Huon Valley.
