Syllables: A syllable is a word, or part of a word which has a

single vowel sound. The words desk, beg, rent, are one syllable
words because we can only hear one vowel in each of them. The
words upper, lower, runner, are two syllable words because each
one has two vowels which we can hear. When you divide a word
with an ending (suffix), divide the word between the root word and
the ending. Example: golfer golf/er
Write the following words in syllables. Example: longer long/er
