Cue-Dependent Theory

Proposed by Tulving (1975)

About Theory
This is only applicable for the LTM store and cannot be applied for the STM store. This mainly states that forgetting usually occurs if we dont have the right cue at the right time during retrieval of information. i.e. when we want to get out the memory out of our brain, the right cues are not AVAILABLE at that time. So from this we can say that forgetting usually occurs as result of the absence of the right cue.
