Somazine generic name: Citicoline Indications: CVD in acute and recovery phase, symptoms and signs of cerebral insufficiency e.g. Dizziness, memory loss, poor conc., disorientation recent cranial. Citicoline increases the neurotransmission levels because it favors the synthesis andf production speed of dopamine in the striatum.

Indications: CVD in acute and recovery phase, symptoms and signs of cerebral insufficiency e.g. dizziness, memory loss, poor conc., disorientation recent cranial. Drug Classification: CNS stimulants Mechanism of action: Citicoline increases the neurotransmission levels because it favors the synthesis andf production speed of dopamine in the striatum, acting then as dopominergic agonist through the inhibition of tyrosine hydroxilase. Citicoline behaves like a presypnatic cholinergic agent in favoring the synthesis of acetylcholine. Citicoline improves the neuronal metabolism in those cases where there is neuronal deterioration due to degenerative, toxic or ischemic cause. Dosage: Adult oral drops: 100-200 mg (I-2mL) bid or tid. Special Precaution: Must not be administered along with medications containing meclofenoxate (aka clophenoxate). Pregnancy Risk Category: Adverse reaction: GI disorders Contraindication: Must not be administered to patients with hypertonia. Form: Oral drops, injections.
