Students Name Teachers Name (250-300 words) To whom it may concern: Johan Mendivil I know Johan since high school. He is a very supportive friend and a great person. Although since we finished high school, we have not seen each other I have read his work at the Smithsonian magazine where he has worked for 5 years. One of his passions is writing. In the high school he used to attend advanced courses of writing. Therefore he studied literature at university where for sure he improved his writing skills. For his latest works at the Smithsonian magazine it seems to me that he prefers to write articles about trendy topics such as science, technology, music, etc. I can say that writing is easy for him because he has a razor-sharp mind. The last article he wrote was about a scientific laboratory that researchers from the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute build in the middle of the Virginia forest. I read the article and I feel very surprised how Johan explained in simple words how the scientist are trying to monitor the forest to get valuable information about species that live there. Although it is a short article, he gave many details about the project that is called NEON and interviewed two scientists from the institute. For all the above reasons, I have no hesitation in recommending him for the position.
