Lived in open, or in caves or in huts made from branches and
animal skins. They gathered fruits and roots, they fished for fish and they hunted animals. They ate what they found in nature They were nomads. When they could not find much food, they moved on to live in a different place. In Palaeolithic Age, men and women lived in tribes. Tribes are a small group formed by several families. Men and women lived for about twenty years. They made simple tools from wood, bones and stone. They made knives, axes and arrowheads from stone. They made harpoons and needles from animal bones and horns. They painted animals on the walls and roofs of caves. They used their hands. They beings made small stone sculptures called Venus figurines.
