Millennium Development Goal (MDG) is one of the many Herculean acts that UN planned to achieve.

The Goal itself is generally sound and valid considering their kind gesture of cancelling $40-55 Billion debt owed by members of heavily indebted poor countries so that these countries can re-channel their resources. But, no matter how ideal, the execution process always hinders the success of any plan. There are 8 goals that UN plans to achieve by 2015 (Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education, Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women, Goal 4: Reduce child mortality rates, Goal 5: Improve maternal health, Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability, and Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development) and those goals/plans will all depend on measurements from collected data and estimation. From an average reasonable persons point of view, how can anybody cooperate in doing something theyre not even aware of? Here in the Philippines, not everybody know about the MDG and that it must be achieved by 2015. With goals dependent on data from surveys and estimation (numbers and figures), cooperation from people to obtain needed sources will be difficult. The intention of the goal is unquestionable, but its way of execution is doubtful. Success or even simple progress from each goal will be doubted by anyone wholl know that originated from false or inaccurate data.
