Dear Chairman Mollohan and Ranking Member Wolf:

I am requesting funding for tbe Safety Net Program in fiscal year 2010. The entity to
receive funding under tbe Department of Justice, Edward Byrne Grant program is
Philadelphia Safety Net, located at The Hatfield House, 3201 West Girard Avenue,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19130. The funding would be used to provide hand-gun
safety educational information to urban communities through collaborative initiatives and
reducing tbe number of available guns through city-wide gun-turn ins (offering
redeemable vouchers for groceries and clotbing items in exchange for hand guns turned
in under tbe supervision and direction of tbe Philadelphia Police Department).
