Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for the San Diego and Imperial Counties Regional
Communications System Upgrade in fiscal year 2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is the San Diego County Sheriffs
Department, located at: 9621 Ridgehaven Court, San Diego, CA 92123.

Funding for the project would be used to purchase equipment and software to
improve data sharing, automate officer alerts and notifications, improve disaster
preparedness, and deliver more intelligence to officers and first responders. This
project deserves federal funding because it is an essential government
responsibility to ensure our law enforcement agencies are fully equipped to protect
the public.

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any fjinancial interest in this project.
