Dear Chai rman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for Wayne County, Michigan Juvenile Mentoring Program in fiscal yea r
201 0.

The enti ty to receive funding for this project is:

Wayne County Departm ent of Children and Family Services
41 5 Clifford Street
Detroit, MI 48202

The funding would be used for one-to-one mentoring projects for at risk youth in Wayne
County, Michigan. Targeting both adjudicated and at-risk populations allows the program to
provide interventions to youth exposed to high levels of risk in the family, home, community,
and social environments to a degree that may lead to educational failure, school truancy ,
substance abuse, gang activity or further juvenile delinquency.
