The Honorable David R. Obey, Chair

The Honorable Jerry Lewis, Ranking Member
Committee on Appropriations
H218, The Capitol
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Chair Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for "In-Car Camera Technology Upgrade" as part of the

Fiscal Year 2010 appropriations process. The proposed recipient offunding for this
project is:

Connecticut Department of Public Safety.

Bureau of Infrastructure and Communications
1111 Country Club Road
Middletown, 06457

Requested funding would be used to replace the present VHS vehicle recording
system with state of the art digital system in state police cruisers. This project
ensures officer safety and allows sworn personnel the ability to capture and save
valuable video and audio evidentiary information for the prosecution of both
criminal and motor vehicle violations .

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

JOE COURTNEY
