Annette Ramirez Beginning Rehabilitation with Focus on Rejoining her Family at Home
REDONDO BEACH, Calif., Sept. 25, 2013 - Resurrection Lutheran Church members; families from its school, Riviera Hall Lutheran School; and local community members, collectively known as Annettes Angels, will come together Sat., Nov. 2, 2013, to support the Ramirez family of Redondo Beach with a silent auction and carnival event. Annette Ramirez lost her arms and legs following a hysterectomy where her intestine was perforated which led to a massive infection. She has been in hospital facility care for more than a year. Her family is members of Resurrection Lutheran Church, and her children both attend Riviera Hall Lutheran School. The event is scheduled to be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 330 Palos Verdes Boulevard, Redondo Beach. Guests at the family-focused event will enjoy a multitiered silent auction, music, carnival-style games and bounce houses, a chili cook-off (including Annettes own award-winning chili recipe) and a barbeque. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to wish Annette well through video messages and a special quilt that is being designed to comfort her and give her strength in this next phase of her healing. Annette Ramirez is one of the most courageous women Ive ever met, said Julie Jacks, Annettes Angels Event Chairperson and Missions Director, Resurrection Lutheran Church. Despite the challenges that lay ahead, she is now focused on getting home and leading as normal a life as possible with her beautiful family. We are thankful that we have this opportunity to support Annette and family as they begin to work through the rehabilitation process.
