FCAC Board and Volunteers Honored At Annual Meeting

On Monday evening, July 8, a reception and awards ceremony was held at the Fountain City Art Center to honor and to thank the FCAC Board of Directors and the outstanding volunteers who devote an extraordinary amount of their time at the front desk every week and who help with special events. The recognition ceremony is part of the Annual FCAC Membership Meeting at the end of each fiscal year. Among the honorees were weekly volunteers Liz Curry, Sue W. Lane, Charlotte Walton, Sonji Bennett, Mary Secrist, and Bob Meadows. Jamie and Holland Rowe were honored as FCAC Members of the Year. Cathy Carl was honored for her many hours of volunteer gardening in the Art Center flower beds. Our Board of Directors has recently inducted a new member: Jim Gentry, and two advisors, Albert Baah, and Mark Ennix. Board members who received special recognition for their dedication to the Center are: President Bob Meadows, Vice Presidents Brenda Moulton and Ken Clayton who shared duties this year, Secretary Dr. Nan Scott, Treasurer Cathy Dodge, Penny Berridge, Leslie Feulner, Christine Harness, Sue W. Lane, Peggy K. Leland, Kent and Toni Nicholson, Jean Payne, Robin Rohwer, Sheryl Sallie, Janet Trewhitt, Nancy D. Webb, and Linda T. Wise. We all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our volunteers and board members who continue to show support for the Center and all of its programs and special events year after year. They are all part of the very special FCAC family which is the secret of the Centers success. Our success is measured much more by the people who use and enjoy the facility than by financial markers. Members make lasting friends here, and experience inspiration, creativity, and personal growth made possible by the interactions of so many generous and talented spirits coming together in one place. During the business portion of the July 8 meeting, the FCAC Proposed Budget for FY 2013-2014 was presented to the membership and accepted by the votes of all those members present. FCAC Executive Director Sylvia Williams wishes to thank all the FCAC members who attended the reception, meeting, and awards ceremony. We made a group photo during the event to commemorate the occasion and hope that more of our members will attend the annual event next July!
