This has been an exciting and fulfilling year for me as president and for Subsidium as a whole. We've had more involvement from our members and also six new members this year! Thank you for your commitment to making our organization stronger so we can continue to impact the children at MOSD in a positive way. March and April were packed with excitement as well. At the March meeting, we were blessed to hear Melissa Gogonelis' story about the benefits that MOSD has offered her child, Christopher, and how they still rely on the school and it's services for continued support. Her story reinforced why we do what we do for the school. We ended March with the MOSD "Speakeasy" presented by Subsidium. This was one fun party!! The "Wine Pull" was once again a sell-out, and exceeded last years donations! We also added a "Sweet Treats" table this year yum! A huge thank you to everyone who attended, brought guests, contributed to the wine pull and auction and volunteered your help. The "Dinner Dash" in April was awesome thank you Susan Edmonds for organizing such a great evening! We tried a new venue this year (downtown) with good food, perfect weather and a fun bus ride from Germantown. We finished out April with our annual Easter party at MOSD which was filled with smiles, laughter, and the Easter Bunny! We'll end the year with the teacher's appreciation luncheon, the May general meeting and dinner at TPC Southwind, the BRAT Golf Tournament and MOSD Graduation let's remember to finish strong. We volunteer to help those less fortunate, and we are blessed to be able to give back. Please stay involved and committed to Subsidium. We need YOU!!!

The Great Hall in Germantown was transformed into a 1920s speakeasy Saturday, March 29 th for the 3rd annual SpeakEasy Gala, presented by Subsidium, to benefit MOSD. As Andrew Douglas, our very personable emcee and auctioneer from WMC TV 5 said at the end of the evening we did it. We ALL certainly did. A big THANK YOU to each of you for giving your time and auction expertise and generous support to make this years SpeakEasy a big success! More than 250 guests got dolled up and dapper to enjoy the evening of great food and beverages from a variety of restaurants including several new participantsjazz music from the Jack Cooper Triocasino games with the great volunteers from Horseshoe photo booth with the fun propsabsolutely fabulous silent and live auctionsand the Friends of Subsidium Wine Pull, which was a sellout again this year. A special item that was added to the live auction this year was the opportunity for guests to be a Hearing Hero and sponsor a week of speech therapy for an MOSD student. A total of $3,600 was contributed! We greatly appreciate Subsidiums support as our Presenting Sponsor and I am very pleased to report that the 2014 SpeakEasy raised more than $75,000 for the children of MOSD!

There are only two more Subsidium sponsored events at MOSD for this school year! Please mark your calendars for the following important dates: Tuesday, May 6th, 1:00pm is the teacher/staff appreciation lunch. Subsidium will provide a wonderful lunch for them to enjoy for a relaxed hour. Please come at 12:30 to help set up and serve lunch or email me to volunteer to provide part of the meal. Thursday, May 23rd, 9:30am is the MOSD graduation with a reception sponsored by Subsidium. This is a very special day for the graduates and their families. Please try to be there to offer your support and congratulations. Hope to see a lot of your faces at these two events. A special thanks to all the members that gave of their time and/or made donations to the Subsidium events at MOSD this school year. I really do appreciate you all.

Please volunteer to help with the upcoming annual BRAT Golf Tournament. Drivers are needed to pick up players at the airport on May 16 & 17, volunteers are needed to help with the auction on Saturday evening May 17, and "the really fun part" is to work at the golf course on Sunday, May 18.
