In the Landscape Architecture Magazine September, 2013 Vol. 103 No. 9, Beth Dunlop examines a design about a railroad park design in Birmingham, Alabama. Located in the Birmingham where is a marvelous combination of historical background and vision of futurity, undoubtedly, railroad park is the most topgallant reflection of breath and life in the Birmingham. As Tom leader said Its everybodys territory, railroad park makes people feel like everyone owns and enjoys this park. Specifically, therere plentiful uses about the railroad park. On weekdays, people enjoy a time of exercising while numerous activities are provided for people. Furthermore, location is another bright spot in the design of the railroad park. Benefitted from of being a joint effort between the city and the railroad park foundation, the railroad park gives a full expression of the subject of everyone s territory. Whats more, no matter the use of land or background of park or plants species in the park, everything reflects the design concept by Tom leader who shepherded this design project. Leader mentioned he was looking for ways to mold topography. Then, Beth demonstrates that the connection between Birminghams history with the railroad park design. Throughout history, the railroad park even the whole city has changed completely. Therefore, many impossible things turned to be possible. In my point of view, the railroad park must be a milestone for Birmingham. It reminds people of history, meanwhile, and also brings hope and dream for city. Just as an old saying, everything is possible. More importantly, Its everyones territory.
