United Painters and Public Artists is an arts advocacy group that represents muralists from Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, Leimert Park, South L.A., Mid-City, Highland Park, San Fernando Valley, and East L.A. It is a diverse group of muralists from all generations, styles, and locations. Collectively UPPA represents over 400 years of mural production in sustaining the cultural patrimony of the City of Los Angeles. UPPA has come together to organize and mobilize muralists and is at the forefront of revising the actual language of the Citys mural ordinance.
