State or district standard: Science: A.8.3, A.8.6, C.8.2, C.8.5, C.8.6, D.8.1, D.8.4, Instructional objective(s): Students will be able to distinguish between chemical and physical changes of matter, identify characteristic properties of matter and explain their uses. They will compare mixtures and a pure substance and describe elements and compounds. Students will create a learning tool to understand matter vocab. Students will compare the physical characteristics of matter.

Procedures: Procedures:
Introduction: o Students were already broken into 6 groups and there will be 2 groups at each station. o Write goals on the board
30 minutes at each station. Complete 1 and a half stations by class end. If on the SMART board station make sure to get all info. Theres no chance of getting it later.
Steps for instruction: o Instructions will be placed at each station o Students have been briefed on the day prior o I will walk around for questions and to help the students stay on track Strategies for students requiring additional assistance: (WI Teacher Standard # 3) The SMART board workshop has games to play in relations to the information if the students finish early If any student is having difficulty understanding the material Mrs. Roguszka and I will be walking
around.
Closure: o Get stations back to the way they were when they walked in and dismiss them
