To Whom It May Concern:

I had the pleasure of serving as a Supervising Teacher for Dionetta Piazzo while
she completed her student teaching (Grade 6 Mathematics) at Oak Creek East
Middle School. I am pleased to say that I have watched Ms. Piazzo develop from
a novice teacher into one who understands learning and uses a variety of
instructional strategies to maximize the learning in her classroom.

Ms. Piazzo has an excellent understanding of student learning. She is well versed
on the Common Core and focuses her energies on all students performing to the
best of their abilities. She assesses her students in a variety of ways and utilizes
the SmartBoard to enhance the learning.

An area of strength was her ability to ask insightful guiding questions that helped
her students to develop conceptual understanding. She made real-life connections
and had her students complete relevant tasks that were both motivating and
engaging. She successfully created a caring and welcoming environment by
greeting students at the door and by her positive framing in all conversations. She
was open to growth as exhibited by her willingness to adjust her practice
following discussion with both her cooperating teacher and supervisor. Her
attendance and ownership of the learning in the classroom were exemplary.

As a former principal and as an instructor of Math Methods at Alverno College, I
truly believe that Ms. Piazzo has the abilities to effectively facilitate learning for
her students. I highly recommend that you interview her and see what an
exceptional educator she is. Please feel free to contact me for further information
