Subject:- Group of Ministers to review national security system.

…..

It has been decided with the approval of the Prime Minister to constitute a Group
of Ministers to review the national security system in its entirety and, in particular, to
consider the recommendations of the Kargil Review Committee and formulate specific
proposals for implementation. For this purpose, the Group may commission such studies
as it considers necessary or set up/obtain the opinion of expert groups on specific subjects.

2. The composition of the Group of Ministers will be as under:-

1) Shri L.K. Advani, Minister of Home Affairs.

2) Shri George Fernandes, Minister of Defence.
3) Shri Jaswant Singh, Minister of External Affairs.
4) Shri Yashwant Sinha, Minister of Finance.

3. Shri Brajesh Mishra, National Security Adviser, will be a Special Invitee for the
meetings of the Group.

4. The Group will submit its report in six months from the date of its constitution.

5. The Group will be serviced by the National Security Council Secretariat.
