The highly prestigious Zienkiewicz Scholarship is only available to international students and is
reserved only for top calibre students (minimum of a First Class Honours Degree equivalent, plus
a Masters Degree and IELTS at 7.0 or equivalent) and awards will be allocated on a competitive
basis.
These are only available for PhDs within the School of Engineering and each case will be dealt with
on a case-by-case basis with regard to the level of award, but all will cover fees and provide a
generous stipend.
Areas of study that are appropriate to the School of Engineering at Swansea University include;
• Advanced Telecommunications
• Aerospace Engineering
• Materials Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Nanotechnology
For those interested in obtaining one of these Scholarships, the first stage is to submit a "Declaration
of Interest" in the form of a CV, transcripts and a short PhD proposal. A panel of top academics
within the School will then scrutinise the applications and then make a recommendation on whether or
not a formal application should be made and the level of the award. Any applications made without a
"Declaration of Interest" will not be considered for the Scholarship.
