Most healthy individuals fall under the RDA category of 1,000 mg of calcium per day.

Calcium Absorption
Calcium is absorbed in the small intestine through an ion channel with the help of a vitamin D dependent protein (calbindin).

Serum levels are tightly controlled!!!

Dairy Products
Most common dairy products are milk, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream.

Dairy products contain more bioavailable calcium than any other food source.
