The Serena S-Hybrid features a newly developed direct-injection and Twin CVTC engine with XTRONIC CVT that has a maximum horsepower and torque of 147ps/5,600rpm and 210Nm/4,400rpm respectively. It achieves high torque at low engine speed, which means less accelerator pressure is required, improving fuel consumption.

The new generation XTRONIC CVT with reduced internal friction, expansion of gear ratio range and new control system contributes to the superb fuel efficiency in addition to delivering enhanced dynamic performance and smooth response.

The engine restarts within 0.3 seconds after the brake pedal is released. ECO-Motor through Torque Assist Function will assist start-up acceleration.

Kinetic energy from the wheel is converted to electric energy to charge the batteries while braking.
