Dear Parents Greetings from Ideal 21st Century Competitions Limited For any child who aspires to go to a good

professional college the two years after 10thare very crucial as now he has to compete nationally at a completely different level and it is a completely different types of exam. Parents can play a crucial role in helping children handle these challenges and succeed in this endeavour by lending a little help, support, and guidance, and by knowing what problems demand their involvement and which ones require them to hang back. Role of Parents in Studies of Child In order to play an active role in this endeavour, it is very important that you know all stakeholders. Our faculty All of our faculty members are well qualified, experienced and trained to coach for competitive exams. Relative to any other institute our faculty is more available to the students as the teacher student ratio is the least at 21st century i.e. our batch size is small relative to any other coaching institute. Our faculty is fully committed to the students that are the reason our students have performed well in national and international level competitions like national and international Olympiads. Our study material is created by experienced teachers and that is it is one of the best study material available. Our faculty is the most sought after faculty in Mumbai and still our attrition rate is the least. Only one faculty left us during last academic session and that too with the consent of our director.

Our faculty does not practice just finishing syllabus at fast pace. As they are more aware that in the Mumbai where the institutional set up is not residential it is good of the student to teach at fast forward pace. Our faculty is always happy to stretch themselves to help those students who seek help. Unfortunately even if they try, they cannot help those students who are not motivated enough to stretch themselves Our faculty/ counsellor is always available to take counselling session for students who seek for it. Counselling also help when the student is motivated to improve. All this clearly explains that in a coaching institute, the faculty is supposed to be a subject coach and his job is to give coaching in topic related to their subject, give them practice assignments and help them to clear their doubts.

Note: A teacher can never make the child learn if he is not motivated to do hard work to learn the subject. Because a teacher takes equal efforts for all the students but still some perform extraordinarily and the others perform badly. The learning of any subject requires more than 100% effort from the student side and when the teacher is also giving 100% knowledge. If any child is not doing homework and not coming up with doubts or not scoring good score in the test, teacher can push him or motivate him only to a certain level as each teacher is available to him for only 5-6 hours on weekly basis. So it becomes the responsibility of the parent also to get actively involved in the macro management of his studies. Our Institution Ideal 21stcentury is committed to provide all that is required for effective coaching and it include Student centric teachers Best Study material Practice and revision assignments Counselling and Guidance to students who seek it

Note: The institute cannot customise the study plan as per individual needs. We customise it for the groups created as per performance of students on a set scale. But we have designed a way through which you can plan for your child keeping his strength s and weaknesses in mind. Parents as supporters can do:

A. Setting up Conducive study environment Create a quiet, well-lit, distraction-free place to study. The space should be provision to keep with books, notebooks, a calculator (so that students do not demand to keep his cell phone with him), and any other necessary supplies. It should be away from distractions like TVs, ringing phones, and video games. Make Students create formulae sheets for each chapter of each Subject. In Chemistry they also need to prepare the reaction sheet of the chapters where ever required If possible keep a soft board, so that students can put the formula sheets of the chapters they are revising in front of them. Make sure that the students write the formulae sheet for each and every chapter yourself, if possible, after memorising them. Note The formulae are written in the boxes in the book. In the study material provided by us the formulae are usually written in the beginning of chapter. Memorising formulae is very important for any student and for all exams as it enables students to solve problems in lesser time and thus help in confidence building. (All exams are race against time including the Board exams. Last year many students could not complete their physics board paper as they found it lengthy so practice is the key) If possible, fix a white board in his study area wherein students can write their daily agenda and can also use it to practice maths or numerical. Usually students prefer to study in their private area as it is enable them to concentrate more, but check in from time to time to make sure that your child hasn't gotten distracted. When you child is studying, TV, Computer, Cell phone etc. should not be accessible to him. Keep his phone switched during the time. We strongly recommend that you disconnect cable connection and reduce childs Use of computers and cell phone to negligible. A small stroll As the practice assignments will be provided online so children may ask for computer accessibility, set it up in a common space, not in his study area or bed room, to discourage playing video games, chatting with or emailing friends, or surfing the Internet for fun during study time. Make sure that if your child is preparing for JEE main/Advanced then he has such one base book is available that all types of problem with solutions in it for each subject

For example for physics B M Sharma or H. C Verma Chemistry OP Aggarwal Mathematics M. L Khanna Cengage publication books are well written so if you do not have any other book then you can buy them B. Align the student Study Schedule with our Study plan Now we have designed a 12th board preparation plan and we have decided to execute it from the next week i.e. from 28th September, 2013 onwards. The weekly schedule will be provided to you by next week Our Preparation Strategy for the coming exams Stage 1 Categorisation of Students 1. We have categorised the students into three categories on the basis of their performance over two years A. The students who should focus on getting a good seat in State. Now to do that they need to focus only on 12th boards till they start getting approx. 80-85% in the Board tests.(Now the common merit list is formed on the basis of 50% weightage of board exams and 50% weightage of JEE mains.) As these students are not able to cope up with the difficulty level of JEE mains so the easiest way of improving rank is by performing in 12th Board and securing a good rank in state. B. The Students who need to focus on securing a god rank in NIITs. These students need to prepare for 12th Board and JEE mains only and leave the JEE advanced preparation for the time being. C. The students who have been performing well and if they focus and study sincerely they can secure a good seat in IITs. The sole objective of this activity to improve the productivity to child and also his professional achievements Process to be followed for Board Preparation by parents Step1: According to the Schedule given to you we will mail 2 assignments per chapter for each subject every week. Both the assignments need to be solved by the student at home. Step2: While solving the first assignment the student can take the help from books

Step 3: The second assignment is a home test. It needs to be completed in the stipulated time. After the completion of the test the parents will check whether he has attempted all the questions and with the help of the solution sheet provided please check whether he has written correctly or not. Step 4: Then it will be also evaluated by the teacher and teacher will give a half an hour test for the same chapter. The test will be discussed by the teacher and cross evaluated among students. Step 5: Filling of assessment sheets. It can done two ways a. We will create an assessment sheet on Google doc. You simply have to fill it up. It will help you as well as to track his progress and also help the student to prepare his next revision plan. b. In case you dont have internet accessibility, our support staff will call and fill in the assessment sheet. It can be sent to you later.

Process to be followed for JEE Mains Preparation by parents The process for board and JEE Mains preparation is almost similar. The only difference is that the questions are objective type and the no of questions per assignment are more. You will be provided with the key to correct the assignment Step1: According to the Schedule given to you we will mail 2 assignments per chapter for each subject every week. Both the assignments need to be solved by the student at home. Step2: While solving the first assignment the student can take the help from books Step 3: The second assignment is a home test. It needs to be completed in the stipulated time. After the completion of the test the parents will check whether he has attempted all the questions and with the help of the solution sheet provided please check whether he has written correctly or not. Step 4: Then it will be discussed by the teacher and teacher will also give a half an hour test for the same chapter. The test will be discussed by the teacher and cross evaluated among students.

Note: Here we expect that the student is able to solve at least half the assignment on its own. Please see that students work towards building concepts by studying and practicing from the reference books and our booklets Step 5: Filling of assessment sheets. It can done two ways

a. We will create an assessment sheet on Google doc. You simply have to fill it up. It will help you as well as to track his progress and also help the student to prepare his next revision plan. b. In case you dont have internet accessibility, our support staff will call and fill in the assessment sheet. It can be sent to you later. Follow up at centre: Practice and Discussion Sessions at Centre Every week we will start with two practice session one session per subject. Every week we will cover two subjects. As the syllabus for Maths is over so now we are having both the sessions for Maths but later we will start for all subjects. For board, we will have 1- 2 hour session per subject and we will cover two subjects every week.

Weekly Schedule will be provided to you within one week. More tips to help make homework/Assignments easier for your child:

Plan ahead. Regularly sit down with your child to go over the preparation schedule given by us to plan accordingly. Establish a routine. Send the message that homework is a top priority with ground rules like setting a regular time and place each day for homework to be done. And make it clear that there's no TV, phone calls, video game-playing, etc., until homework is done and checked.

Many a times, homework can really start to add up and become harder to manage. These strategies can help: Be there: You don't have to hover at homework time, but be around in case you're needed. If your son is frazzled by geometry problems he's been trying to solve for hours, for instance, suggest he take a break. A fresh mind may be all he needed, but remind him to resume when it's time to return to homework. Be in touch with Institute: Maintain contact with teachers to stay informed, especially if your child is struggling. They'll keep you apprised on how to help your child. They can offer guidance on any issue related to studies.

Recall: Recall is the best way to memorise and help your child whatsoever he has learnt periodically. Revision Notes: Make your child small revision notes for the topics which seems difficult to him along with formulae sheets and Equation Sheets. Encourage your child to reach out: Most teachers are available for extra help before or after class, and also might be able to recommend other resources. Encourage your teen to ask for help, if needed. Don't wait for report cards to find out that there are problems at school. The sooner you intervene, the sooner you can help your teen get back on track. Keep the environment around your Child Positive: Remain positive and give positive energy to your child because i.e.The right learning for Life Make sure your child knows that you're available if he needs you. At the same time give the space to try and do his work own his on. Encourage effort and determination not just good grades. Ask the child that grades will surely follow he does not have to give up working hard and in the right direction. Never criticize their coaching institute, the school, the faculty or the peer group as it confuses and de-energises the child. Always make them understand as they are seekers of knowledge so they need to have intellectual humility as it will help learn more and grow more. You can always give feedback to teachers or institute but you need to give them the space to take their decision and respect it also. When they plan they plan according to all the children not just your child. But if you need some extra help, seek it, as an institute we would try to support you in the best possible way. Be our collaborator. With a little support from parents, a positive experience can be built for children and further it will empower them to develop lifelong skills they'll need to succeed in school and beyond.
