DDB South Africa wins First National Bank of South Africa

First National Bank of South Africa (FNB) has concluded its review of advertising agencies and has
awarded its main advertising contracts to two agencies, DDB South Africa and Metropolitan
Republic. The two beat the two largest agencies in South Africa, Ogilvy and Draft FCB.

Leading digital design agency Gloo retains FNB’s brand digital account. FNB’s “How can we help
you?” remains the brand’s emblematic claim.

Glen Lomas, DDB South Africa CEO, said: “DDB is over-the-moon to have been chosen as a
creative partner for FNB and we look forward to sharing this privilege with Metropolitan Republic
and Gloo.”

The appointment is effective immediately. FNB is also a FIFA 2010 World Cup sponsor, which
means that DDB South Africa will now be handling three of the major sponsors, the others being
MTN (the largest mobile telecom business in Africa) and McDonald’s.
