Issoudon: a pilgrimage
In December 2012 following a three month sabbatical in Israel, I made a pilgrimage to Issoudon, France, to walk in the footsteps of Jules Chevalier, the founder of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart; the society to which I belong, and attempt to live out my vocation to be on earth the heart of God. The week was spent with a group of Australian women who have an association with OLSH schools in Australia. They were participating in a Cor Novum program especially designed for them: Heart Spirituality and the Ministry of Education. However, the program also afforded me the opportunity to visit the places associated with Jules life including Richelieu where he was born, and Bourges where he was ordained. The text accompanying the following photographs is deliberately minimalist to allow the images to speak for themselves. John Walker msc December, 2012
