Self-tapping fasteners

6. Thread rolling screws for plastics Self-tapping screws for thermoplastic synthetic materials must be constructed so as to provide low driving torques, high stripping torques and high pull-out forces. AMTEC screws from Bllhoff, Standard B 52004 et seq. with 30 flank angle have a proven track record. These have a relatively large pitch and a small minor diameter. The threaded connection has selflocking properties and can be reused up to ten times.

Radial stresses

This process is particularly economical because metric threads generally require an additional internally threaded component to be embedded. It is, however, very important to follow the design notes* to ensure that no problems occur in the use of this fastener.
