    Assessing Extreme Cases


    Loading Case 1 Gives highest value of bending moment (-6579.031)
    Loading Case 2 Gives highest value of bending moment at the left and right hand side spans (3291.9,-4912.9) respectively. Gives highest amount of shear at the first support (1398.33) and lowest
    and fourth support (-1701)
    Loading Case 5 Gives highest value of bending moment (9427.3) at the third support. Gives
    lowest/highest value of shear force at second support (-2422.18/2789.18)
    Loading Case 6 Gives highest value of bending moment (8486.83) at the second support. Gives
    lowest/highest values of shear at third support (-2789.18/2720)

    Placement of Joints
    Joint at 17m, from the BMD a lot of BMs converge at this area and the shear force has descended
    half way from its highest point in an extreme case. Joint at 27m as a huge majority of the BMs
    converge to zero around this area and the shear force is only half way in its ascent. Joint at 40 as a
    portion of BMs converge around this span but also all of the shear forces approach zero around this
    distance.
