The review is organized into sections that include a thesis, introduction, (3) paragraphs of evidence, and a conclusion. The transition between these elements requires minor revision to improve the flow of the review. The review has a few grammatical errors that cause the reader to pause and think about what the writer is trying to say.

2 Meets Expectations
The review demonstrated basic organization. The sections, however, dont flow effectively with each other and the review requires editing.

1 Needs Improvement
The review fails to show organization. It is missing a section(s) and/or has little structure.

Grammar

The review has numerous grammatical errors, and more extensive editing is necessary. This makes the paper difficult, if possible, to read.

The review does not meet the basic requirements and has significant grammatical issues. The review needs to be thoroughly edited and resubmitted.

Argument

The review is written effectively. It has a clear thesis statement, and the evidence clearly supports the thesis throughout the review.

The review is a good piece of writing. It contains a thesis statement. The evidence presented, for the most part, supports the thesis statement.

The review meets the basic requirements. There is a thesis, but the evidence does not fully support that thesis statement.

The review is not written effectively. It has no clear thesis statement and the evidence is not compelling. The review needs to be thoroughly edited and resubmitted.
