Write-up: Teacher Advisory Committee The Grinnell College Education Department's Teacher Advisory Committee is described on their website

(http://www.grinnell.edu/about/committees/teacher-advisory) as follows: "The Teacher Advisory Committee of local educators meets biannually and reports to the state of Iowa. It enhances the Grinnell College Education Program's communication and cooperation with area schools to provide an excellent pre-service teaching education for Grinnell students, advises faculty on student teaching evaluations, and makes suggestions about enhancing Grinnells curriculum. Members serve a two-year term; membership terms are staggered to provide some continuity of membership. Many members are currently serving a two year term. The committee meets twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring." As stated in the excerpt above, my duties in participating on the committee include offering counsel to the professors about education students' participation in our classrooms, college programs in education, and curricular matters. Additionally, the members of TAC communicate with guests of the program to offer insight into the local educational community and to help vet candidates for new positions within the department.
