CURRENT EVENT ARTICLES

Its important while learning French that you be Internationally Minded and broaden your horizons! This assignment is a tool to view the French-speaking world as it applies to events that are taking place right now! Current events dont just have to be about politics (although they can!) but can include sports, fashion, the arts, music, literature, food, history, educationbasically anything that interests you that has taken place within the last 30 days!

THE ASSIGNMENT:
Once per trimester you will be responsible for finding a current event article based on something that is going on in France or any francophone country. Your article can be found in a newspaper, magazine or online (a good website is www.france24.com, see the class website for other resources). Current event articles will be presented on Mondays only and you will be assigned the date that you will need to have your article ready to go.

The following is what you need to have:

One current event article that pertains to something that is taking place in France or another francophone country A two paragraph summary/reflection: Your first paragraph (5 sentences minimum) should summarize your article in your own words Your second paragraph (5 sentences minimum) should be a personal refection based on how you feel about your article 2 thoughtful questions for the class about your article (see what they understood from the article and what their opinion is) Your summary and reflection need to be typed using a 12-size font and include your name, the date and the class period You will also present your article in class by reading your summary, reflection, and asking them 2 thoughtful questions.
