I. Anticipatory Set
Warm-up: o What are the seven regions of Spain we have covered and what are the capitals? Galicia Santiago de Compostela Asturias Oviedo Cantabria Santander Basque Country Vitoria Gasteiz Navarra Pamplona La Rioja Logroo Aragon Zaragoza II. Objective Students will recall previous geographical knowledge. Students will be exposed to cultural aspects of the Northern Regions of Spain. Students will compare and contrast the culture of Northern Spain to that of our own community. III. Input A. Task Analysis--things (skills, objects, etc.) needed for students to complete the lesson

Students will need to answer the questionnaire that follows the video.

Students will demonstrate comprehension of the cultural similarities and differences between Northern Spain and our community.

C. Method of Presentation

PBS Video Rick Steves Spain Northern Spain and the Camino de Saniago Teacher will lead discussion on the cultural similarities and differences between Basque Country and our community.

V. Check for Understanding

Students will complete a T-Chart of the similarities and differences they observed and discussed.

VI. Closure

Students will discuss one difference that they would miss if they moved to Northern Spain.
