Staff Nurse

Job objectives: To deliver bedside nursing service to promote patient recovery and comfort under supervision by the headnurse.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Receives one-on-one patient endorsement form outgoing bedside nurse. Comes 15 minutes before endorsement time for chart review based on patient assignment. Introduces oneself to patients and orients patient and watcher on hospital policies and procedures. Does bedside nursing care. Assesses condition of stable and unstable patient and documents the same accordingly. Formulates plan of care based on assessment and does patient evaluation every shift and documents the same accordingly. Assigns stable patient to junior nurses for VS taking and regularly checks i ts accurateness and completeness. Admits/Discharges patients and inform doctors of the admission/discharges. Prepares medication sheet and medication tickets or assigned patients based on doctors order promptly and accurately. Administer and documents correct medication tickets or assigned patients and observed patient reaction, signs and symptoms, possible medical sepsis and initiates mediate action when appropriate and record this in the chart. Gives health teachings to patient and family especially before discharge. Follows protocols and referrals if any unusuality or the patient is observed for necessary actions. Attends regular meeting and conferences, continuing education program and participates in clinical researchers and studies whenever needed. Prepares special duties when assigned to a special action under the close guidance and supervision of the headnurse. Consistently implements the quality policy, quality objectives and procedures. Undertake action to correct non-conformity that might be observed/found over the work area. Performs new work as may be assigned by the headnurse.
