Dustin Hoffman is portrayed as innocent however this is contrasted with the dark lighting associated with Tom Cruise. The overall structure of the poster is very central highlighting all key themes are around these two characters and there arent any external factors.

The Title
The films title features in the lower third of the poster, this is highly effective because it means that the audience will read the details of the film before seeing the films name. The serif font is used to portray the films themes, it adds an optimistic undertone to the film. It is evident that the actors names are just as poignant as the title of the film this portrays the actors as a selling point for the film because they are well known.

Colour Palette
A shallow focus is used to place emphasis on the characters, the use of the grey background does not distract the reader from the key feature of the magazine. The simplicity of the poster emphasises the struggle of the character of Raymond. The purpose of the poster is to expose the struggles of mental illness but it is established as the norm through the simplicity of the poster.
