Every day I will get the order and sign for it then go inside and prep sauces and dessert. Then sous chefs showup and I tell them the menu. Then i lead my cooks through the day and make the dinner menu. Then after the dinner rush and the evening is over i can leave. I will have a 12 hour work day 7 days a week. The risks include burns, cuts, and bruises but can be avoided with common sense. I will be at work all through out the day indoors and out. The clothing needed chefs coat and cotton pant, hairnet, chefs hat.

Yearly salary 30,000 - 40,000. I feel this job will always be there because restaurants are great escapes for people to go for great food and entertainment.

Education path way The program i will be taking is a 1 year culinary program at the okanaga collage in kelowna. The program trains you in the colleges cafeteria. the program covers all the culinary need to become a cook in a restaurant. One years total cost is 3,722.56.

They requirements include B.C. secondary school graduation, or equivalent, or 19 years of age and out of secondary school for at least one year as of the first day of classes. One of: English 10, English 10 First Peoples, an equivalent Intermediate Level Adult Basic Education English course, or an ABLE reading comprehension score of at least 77%. Math requirement: Students graduating from secondary school in or prior to 2012: Mathematics 10 or an equivalent Intermediate Level Adult Basic Education Mathematics course, or an ABLE mathematics score of at least 50%. Students entering Grade 10 in or after 2010 and/or completing the new mathematics curriculum: One of: Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 10, Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10, or an equivalent Intermediate Level Adult Basic Education Mathematics course, or an ABLE mathematics score of at least 50%.

What led me to become a chef was the love and passion i have for food and the i love to eat food. The one reason though is because i love to please people by making them food. I would love to increase my culinary knowledge and gain a prestige rank in the culinary world.
