Health & Fitness: I have raced triathlons from sprint distant to Ironman distant races. I have also competed in adventure races and Nordic ski races. I am a certified law enforcement health and fitness instructor through the Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas. Spending time with family and friends. Learning: Increasing my knowledge through continued formal education and training. Travelling to new places.

Experience
I have facilitated the development and implementation of Oregons second bicycle diversion program. This required bringing together bicycle advocates, non-profit groups, local court, Municipal Court Judge, Redmond Police Department, and Deschutes County Sheriffs Office. Worked with Oregon State Senator Chris Telfer, public school officials, and law enforcement agencies around the State of Oregon to create legislation to make it illegal for minors to be under the influence of controlled substances. I also worked with the ACLU in reducing their opposition to this bill. Testified in front of the Oregon State Senate Judiciary Committee regarding a Minor in Possession of Controlled Substance Bill. Member of Citywide Customer Service Committee. I helped develop and present material that has been and is being presented to all City of Bend employees. Worked with the City of Bend MPO to obtain and implement traffic safety grants over the past several years. Worked with Captain Cory Darling and Lieutenant Brian Kindel to create an environment where patrol officers could thrive and feel proud to work at the Bend Police Department. Worked with ODOT to create a DUII educational video, which shows the DUII process from start to finish. The PIO for ODOT received media person of the year at the DUII conference for his work on the video. Worked with ODOT to install the first rapid flashing beacon pedestrian lights in a 45 mph zone in the United States. No crashes since installation approximately two years ago. Helped to create a Patrol Division 360 feedback process, giving valuable feedback to supervisors. Worked with local television news to create stories that impact our community. Worked with local, State, and West Coast news agencies from print, radio, and television as the public information officer for the City of Bend Police Department.
