Ana Durazo Mrs. Patty ENG 091 October 22, 2013 Mulan Is a Heroine Fa, Mulan was a young Chinese woman who wanted to honor her family. However, everything she did humiliated and embarrassed them. Somehow, she desired to change the impression that everyone had about her, and show who she really was. Mulan, is a hero for being courageous in every circumstance, clever in her planning solution for every difficult situation, and unselfish, for always saving others people even if it included risking her life. A war was taking place at the country that Mulan lived in. One day, the Emperor of China sent a message saying that one member of each family needed to enroll the army to defend china. Mulans father, Fa Zhou, quickly put his name down for the task but he was injured, and had no strength to fight. When Mulan saw her father so hurt, she did not hesitate to replace her father in the war. She decided to escape home, taking the familys soldier uniform. She cut her hair and pretended to be a man to not be recognized among the other soldiers. When Zhou realized that Mulan had escaped, he decided not to look for his daughter because exposing her identity could get her killed Moreover, Mulan showcases the valiant warrior in her upon her arrival at the training camp under the pretended name of Fa Ping, risking her life with every minute

she stayed there. She did not contemplate that the training would be so complicated, and her weakness rose suspicion in Captain Li Shang. However, she gave the effort to train herself harder than any other man in the camp. Mulan demonstrated her potential to everyone when she ascended a giant pole with two heavy weights that represented discipline and strength; she reached for the arrow on the top of the pole, which was her achievement. After this event, she proved many other warrior abilities, established her strength verifying that she was ready for war. Additionally, Li Shang received a fake notification that allegedly came from the Emperor saying that troopers were needed in from of the army. When the soldiers finally arrived at the front, they realized that there were no survivors left. Mulan revealed her noble side when she left a doll in the catastrophic place to remember all the dead fighters. While the troop was marching through the Tung Shao Pass, a cannon accidentally shot, and the opponents immediately knew their location. While soldiers fought against the harmful combatants, Mulan prepared a plan to defeat their opponents. Her cunning intellect helped her create an avalanche with the last cannon remaining to take down all the enemies. The Capitan fainted and Mulan got herself in the middle of the avalanche to save him, but unfortunately, an arrow injured her stomach, and in the process of healing, her identity was discovered. Lastly, the main enemy, Shang-Yu, tried to assassinate the Emperor. Mulan endangered her life one last time when she fought against Shang-Yu with spades to save the Emperor. After having defeated Shan-Yu, saved the Capitan, the country and the Emperor, Mulan was recognized as the bravest of knights of China, even when everyone already discovered her identity. She was given a sword to show her family

what she had done for her country, and the Emperors medal to show her family what she had done for them. She was also offered a position as a member of the council, but she declined the offer and asked to go back home because she was not selfish and she only wanted to honor her family. Eventually, she ended up returning home honoring her family, China, and the Emperor. Throughout the story, Mulan shows her heroism for being valiant, astute, and selfless. Due to the events that she had transpired, she is Chinas heroine.
