Dr. Kendra N. Bryant

(1979- )

Kendra N. Bryant is the creator and CEO of We the People Think Project. Bryant started this project in an effort to showcase her creative works. We the People Think Project hopes to enlighten and encourage compassion for others via fine arts and positive leadership. Her art line consists of inspirational portraits, postcards, poems and T-shirts. Civil rights movements and the black literary arts inspire most of Bryants creative works. Bryants positive activities stem from her various works as a community service leader, including conducting poetry workshops with the Runaway with Words program and the PACE Center for Girls. She also help organize FAMUs first Artist in Bloom Festival. Bryant trusts that love and peace can conquer all. Bryant was born and raised in Miami, Fla. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida and Florida A&M University. With a doctorate in English, she is now an assistant professor at FAMU, teaching freshman composition and improving writing. Bryant has been working in the field for more than 10 years. She has also taught at Tallahassee Community College and various high schools throughout Florida. Bryant also likes to think of herself as an innovator, supporting contemplative pedagogy, which is a teaching method designed to deepened awareness, concentration, and insight of students. She agrees this method will help awaken and open students minds to new learning possibilities. Bryant believes that all students can be geniuses; it just takes a stroke of dedication to bring that brilliance out of them.
