CyberCrews Model for Training and Support in Online Learning

Organizational Culture
Create an organization-wide focus on orientation and mentoring programs for online learning. This promotes an organizational culture that supports online training programs.

Faculty Resources
Provide for on-going faculty support services, faculty technical support, and faculty training. This allows the organization to provide the correct knowledge and resources for faculty.

Faculty Collaboration
Provide a space for collaboration within all organization members, including faculty and across departments. This supports an organizational culture of training and support that improves the online program.

Internal Stakeholders
Provide tailored programs to support training and collaboration for internal stakeholders such as administrative and support staff. Incorporate ways that the internal stakeholders can support faculty and students as an integral portion of the online learning training and support program.

External Stakeholders
Provide tailored programs to support external stakeholders, including students and potential students, which support the students ability to attend and succeed in online learning, including adequate disability services, interaction with other students, and strong and supportive instructor communication.

Consistency
Ensure that external and internal stakeholders are able to consistently and continuously access the online programs, training, and support spaces to create a culture of collaboration along with training and support.

Assess Needs
Assess the needs of the training and support programs within the organization. What is the faculty saying their training and support resource needs are? What are the internal stakeholders, administrative and support staff, saying their training and support resource needs are? What are the external stakeholders, students, saying their training and support resource needs are?

Evaluate
Evaluate the culture, resources, consistency, and support within entire program and target specific needs (formative and summative) to meet organization, faculty, and stakeholder positive outcomes.

Be Pro-Active
Take strategic, planned action to address the needs of training and support in online programs and involve the internal and external stakeholders in addressing the needs of training and support in online programs.

Continuous Improvement
Focus on continuous improvement by always striving to meet the changing needs of the organization, faculty, staff, and students. If you are doing this correctly, this will bring you back to # 1: create an organization widefocus and culture of training and support for online learning.
