SLEEVE REPAIR WELDING OF IN-SERVICE GAS PIPELINES

The primary objective of this project was to develop a computational model to represent the Sleeve Repair Welding process of In-Service Gas Pipelines To include the various physical phenomena involved with the real process! a multiphysics approach was implemented To this effect! a combined computational fluid dynamics "#$%& and finite element analysis "$'(& approach was ta)en! as follows* + The heat flu, generated from the welding phase of the process by considering the fluid flow inside the duct using #$%. ( thermal finite element analysis was then used to /uantify the resulting residual stresses in the duct and the Sleeve
